Why use the Sighthound Lounge?
We only board a small number of guests at any one time, so your beloved hound will have our undivided attention during their stay. As whippet lovers ourselves, you can be assured your hound will be in safe hands. We are fully insured, licensed and are Canine first aid trained.
We specialise in Sighthounds, specifically whippets, Italian Greyhounds, Greyhounds and Lurchers.
Please bring enough food for your dog’s stay. We provide bowls for food and water. We provide beds of all shapes and sizes and cozy blankets. If your dog has a favourite toy, then you may bring that too.
Yes, we are fully insured and clients are welcome to view our Insurance documents when visiting us.
We are also fully licensed for dog home boarding with Wiltshire Council.
Yes, we are fully qualified in Canine First Aid and have over 25 years of dog owning, handling and breeding whippets.
Yes, we will provide collars and leads for walks, and all guests will wear a GPS tag on their collar registered to our Home.
Yes, we have a separate dog fridge and freezer and are happy to store and serve raw food.
Yes, we have plenty of rooms within the house for your dog to have quiet time if needed.
Your dog will get unlimited time off lead in our huge secure garden throughout the day, and two lead walks in our own fields or on fun adventures elsewhere.
We are licensed to board 8 dogs in total and that number includes my own two whippets.
Your dog will have the run of our house, along with our own whippets. They can pick a room, dog bed or sofa, or even sneak onto one of our beds (not actively encouraged!).
Yes, we can accommodate this, for those who feel safer sleeping in a cosy den. We are 100% kennel free, free roaming and your dogs can sleep where they choose. We do understand that some dogs prefer their normal routine of sleeping in an unlocked crate at night.
Yes of course, It is important for you to meet us, see our luxury dog home boarding set up and feel happy that your precious hound will be safe and loved while you are away.
We would need your dog to come for a trial morning or afternoon for day boarding to see if they are a suitable fit and indeed if we are a suitable fit for you and your dog.
We always have a trial overnight with all new dogs before their main home boarding stay. This is so that your dog gets to explore our home and garden, gets to know us and our two whippets and our family routine. We see where they like to sleep and get to know them, and they learn to feel safe and trust us. Then when it’s time for their boarding stay, they will happily slot right into their second home!
We will send regular updates via Whatsapp with photos and videos of your dog having a great time, so that you can feel reassured they are absolutely fine and settled.
